Put down the Kool Aid and step back

Drop the Kool-Aid

Open your eyes, open your ears. The time for attention and vigilance is now. Drop the Kool Aid and wake up to the wool that’s fallen past your eyes.

I do feel pity… to an extent, for the celebrities out there that follow our current Comrad in Chief blindly. They receive their orders through some sort of telepathic messaging system that triggers their support reflex to immediately move to action. It’s clear that the majority of them have no idea of the real agenda of their uber messiah. Their loyalty seems so strong that even the most obvious of the evil intentions of the Left don’t register in their hearts or minds. Maybe we can give them a pass because their industry forces them into such a blind faith. To oppose would mean a certain B list status. But they let it grow and fester within till it becomes a full blown obsession.

Scarlette Johanssen, the poor girl. Her Obama mania has transgressed into full blown obsession before the exalted one even rose to prominence. Maybe that makes her more genuine. She was there since the beginning. She’s practically devoted her whole life to the rise of Obama (well, at least the last year or so). She has in fact even mocked that they were engaged (1)…. Isn’t that interesting, finally the Hollywood celeb turned stalker. Hopefully she thinks twice before trying to sneak into the first bedroom to steal her object of desire’s unmentionables. The Secret Service tends to frown on that one.

George Cloony. More of a devoted Leftite than the rest of the 15min’s of fame jockeys. Cloony has attached himself to a number of causes. And this is why it makes him a real candidate for my pity. I love the guy, he wants to fight all the causes I believe in. Take the Darfur cause, where hundreds of thousands of innocent people (including women and children) are massacared each day. This is the same cause that has brought him into the White House to sit in the Oval office (2) and an audience with #1 and the sidekick.  I would love for the US to plunge full force into Darfur. But what have we done there other than join the UN in denouncing the atrocities and affirming the resolve that something must be done. All fancy ways of saying “we watch the news and we’re upset about it”. Yet, to this day, Cloony still high fives the Obama administration for their efforts. What have they done George? People are dying every minute in Darfur waiting for someone to come help them.

Robert DiNiro. Bobby D, you disappoint me. All the supportive messages and commercials you’ve done about NYC since 9-11. It’s all crap. You don’t give a crap about NYC post 9-11 except that which helps beef up your restaurant ratings and customer base. De Niro used his face and fame to convince everyone that all the attacks on, then candidate, Obama’s inexperience was nothing more than political misdirection by the right. Instead of showing how he indeed had the necessary experience, De Niro focused on how the experienced leaders of our country messed up by going to war in Iraq. (3) Hey, Bobby… yeah, I’m talking to you! How’s that lack of experience working out for you now.

Janeane Garafalo. Wow… that’s all I can say…talk about angry. And I mean virulently angry for George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and anyone right of extreme Left. She’s the pinnacle of nutty celebs hell bent on making something of their non exisitent self worth. This woman truly hates. I don’t even know where to begin. OK, I do. This may go down as one of the all time greatest Garafalo quotes.

“The functionally retarded adults, the racists – with their cries of, ‘I want my country back. You know what they’re really saying is, ‘I want my white guy back.’ They apparently had no problem at all for the last eight years of habeas corpus being suspended, the Constitution being [expletive] on, illegal surveillance, lied to on a war or two, two stolen elections – yes, the John Kerry one was stolen too.” (4)

And there have been a number of blind supporters along the way that continue to drink their Kool Aid and share it with others: Tim Robbins & Susan Sarandon, Bette Midler, Barbara Streisand, Richard Gere…. Wait, Richard Gere. I would love to know, Richard, what has your president done to help the cause in Tibet that you so fervently support? Has he done anything to curtail the violence purported by China? No, he hasn’t. In fact he has yet to meet with Dalai Lama, especially now while the Tibetan exile is here in the US. It’s being reported that the reason Pres Obama is not meeting with him is because of economic pressure by the Chinese (5). So again, Mr. Gere, I have to ask, how’s your president helping to advance the mission of peace and security in Tibet?

I will give Hollywood some credit, in that for a long time, the “theater people” of the world have naturally aligned themselves to Socialist leaders around the world. For some, they can’t make it on their own, so they want to government to take care of their every need. Others feel that it makes them more intelligent to be socialist. The successful ones know that if they don’t “toe the company line” they’ll be relegated back to bit parts and B list reality shows.

But at some point they will find themselves crying in their lonely lives wishing they had put aside their desire for fame and made the pursuit of freedom. Poor unfortunate souls, drink up.
